On July 31, over 70 team members from Dragon Edge Group (DEG)—fondly known as DEGsters—headed to Subic Bay to take part in MVCI’s Tidy Up The Tides, a hands-on coastal cleanup initiative that forms part of DEG’s broader commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and employee-driven impact.
The day began with registration and a quick safety briefing before volunteers hit the shoreline for a focused, high-energy 15-minute cleanup. Afterward, everyone participated in weighing, sorting, and segregating the trash, ensuring that recyclables and non-recyclables were handled responsibly. The activity wrapped up with snacks, coffee, and a short reflection session—allowing team members to reconnect and share their experiences.
“(Participating in Tidy Up the Tides) It’s an activity where we can enjoy the fresh breeze, to be in nature, and at the same time to do something meaningful”
— Dennis Balajadia, CEO & Co-Founder of Dragon Edge Group
In total, the DEG team collected 182 kilos of trash, making a visible difference on the coast and demonstrating the power of purpose-led participation. ♻️💙
But what stood out most was the culture DEG brought with them—driven, collaborative, and rooted in values. This isn’t surprising. Known for standout brands like Beach Hut, Cycles, Bite Block, and COV-X, and recognized as a Best Place to Work in the Philippines, DEG is proof that when a company truly walks the talk, it inspires both brand trust and employee pride.
For MVCI, this collaboration is more than a cleanup. It’s a reminder that CSR, when done with authenticity and teamwork, builds real momentum—not just for the planet, but for people and purpose, too.
